Picnics are one of my favourite simple pleasures. They are a wonderful way of spending time in nature, while sharing a relaxed meal with family and friends. For me they are also full of sweet childhood memories. My grandparents often took us on fun family picnics to the local dam. There was always beautiful grass to play on and cold watermelon to enjoy.

This contemporary necklace was inspired by a creative journey to Nepal in 2019. I was captivated by the incredible colours of the houses, especially the vivid pink and green ones. In an otherwise dusty grey landscape, they just popped, like little bursts of hopes and dreams. Just like the homes, each handmade bead is completely unique. For a completely different look, the necklace can be reversed. The piece is finished with tiny glass seed beads. A truly unique piece.
